Series 2019
Last year, the German Longdrive Championship celebrated a successful debut, with a series of eight events, including a PRESEASON, REGULAR SEASON, and the GRAND FINAL. The GLDC is the only tournament in Germany that is officially recognized by the World Long Drive Association. For the first time, in 2019, there were two spots for the World Long Drive Championship available for the best contestants. This made the GLDC a very attractive event for long hitters throughout Europe.

At GolfCity Pulheim
2019
The 2019 GRAND FINAL of the German Long Drive Championship took place on August 10th and 11th in the GolfCity Cologne Pulheim. A total of 52 long hitters and golfers were part of the highlight of the 2019 GLDC Series. Robin Horvath (GER) emerged as the winner from this year’s final after going Head to Head with James Brosnan (GBR). James Brosnan not only finished second, but was also happy about earning a spot for the World Long Drive Championship in the USA at the end of August/beginning of September. Bronze went to Vincent Palm (GER). He defeated the Welsh Bry Roberts in the match for 3rd place. In the women's competition Dutch native Lotte Hoekstra won the duel with Patricia Klemm (GER). The winner showed no nerves and even hit the longest ball in the final with 284 yards. The match for 3rd place was won by Theresa Reil (GER) against Silke Oldenburg (GER).
Golfclub Burgwedel
The REGULAR SEASON Event #5 of the German Long Drive Championship Series 2019 took place at the Golf-Club Burgwedel, near Hanover. Three players participated in the Juniors Competition and 16 players participated in the Division 2 on Saturday 13th July 2019. Martin Borgmeier (GER), who also hit the the longest ball of the day with a driving distance of 365 yards, won Division 2. The German amateur Eike Christian Salzer finished second, followed by Florian Wulf (amateur GER) and James Brosnan (GBR). Division 1 took place on Sunday. The Spanish long drive professional José Quilis won the final against Bry Roberts (GBR) and left the range as the winner of the REGULAR SEASON #5. Martin Borgmeier secured the third place, Jordan Brooks (GBR) made the 4th place. The longest ball of the day was hit by Bry Roberts with a driving distance of 375.6 yards. The end of the REGULAR SEASON #5 event also determined the winner of the GLDC-Ranking. Jordan Brooks finishes at the first place with 270 points. Robin Horvath takes the second place with 250 points followed by José Quilis with 224 points. As Jordan Brooks already owns a ticket to the World Long Drive Championship, the spot goes to Robin Horvath. The Masters Division held its final on Sunday. Marko Mustonen (FIN) won the final against his fellow countryman Jyrki Sytelä and finished first. This secured him a place in the Masters Division of the World Long Drive Championship in the USA. Jens Knoop and Andree Hoffmann (both GER) met in the bronze medal match. Jens Knoop beat Andree Hoffmann with the longer drive to 4th place. Marko Mustonen managed to hit the longest ball of the day in the Masters division with 336.5 yards.
British Army Golf Club Sennelager
Das REGULAR SEASON Event #4 der German Long Drive Championship hat im British Army Golf Club Sennelager in der Nähe von Paderborn stattgefunden. Der gebürtige Paderborner Martin Borgmeier hat die Division 2 am Samstag gewonnen und sich gegen seinen Konkurrenten Dom Musetti (GBR) im Finale durchgesetzt. Steve Vandebos (BEL) belegte den dritten Platz, gefolgt von Lasse Geertsen (GER), der sich damit zum besten Amateur kürte. Am Sonntag wurde die Division 1 ausgetragen. Im Finale standen sich die beiden deutschen Long Drive Professionals Robin Horvath und Martin Borgmeier gegenüber. Robin Horvath ging als Sieger von der Range und sicherte sich somit seinen zweiten Saisonsieg der REGULAR SEASON. Paul Woodcock aus England wurde Dritter, Platz vier belegte Dewald Lubbe aus Südafrika. Robin Horvath gelang ebenfalls der weiteste Schlag des Wochenendes mit einer Länge von 417,6 Yards.
Golf Sport Park Groß-Zimmern
Das REGULAR SEASON Event #3 der German Long Drive Championship hat im Golf Sport Park Groß-Zimmern in der Nähe von Darmstadt stattgefunden. Der deutsche Long Drive Professional Martin Borgmeier hat die Division 2 am Samstag in einem spannenden Finale gegen Alain Kornack (auch GER) für sich entscheiden können. James Brosnan (GBR) hat sich im Spiel um Platz 3 gegen seinen Konkurrenten Timo Petrasch (GER) durchgesetzt. Am Sonntag standen sich in der Division 1 Jordan Brooks (GBR) und Dewald Lubbe (ZAF) im Finale gegenüber. Der britische Long Drive Professional Jordan Brooks ging als Sieger vom Platz. José Quilis (ESP) belegte Rang drei und Paul Woodcock (GBR) den vierten Platz. Martin Borgmeier ist mit einem Drive von 408,8 Yards der weiteste Schlag des Wochenendes gelungen.
Golfpark Gut Häusern
Das REGULAR SEASON Event #2 der German Long Drive Championship Serie war einfach nur beeindruckend. Das Event hat im Rahmen des ersten deutschen Golffestivals im Golfpark Gut Häusern in der Nähe von München bei strahlendem Sonnenschein und guter Stimmung stattgefunden. José Quilis (ESP) hat in einem spannenden Finale gegen Steve Vandebos (BEL) die Division 2 gewonnen. Der spanische Long Drive Professional konnte auch den weitesten Schlag des Tages mit einer Länge von 389,9 Yards erzielen. James Brosnan (GBR) wurde Dritter, Timo Petrasch (GER) belegte den vierten Platz. Am Sonntag standen die Matches in der Division 1 an. Jordan Brooks (GBR) hat José Quilis (ESP) in einem sehr engen Finale mit 387 Yards geschlagen und ging als Sieger vom Platz. Dewald Lubbe (ZAF) hat sich im Spiel um Platz 3 gegen seinen Gegner Bry Roberts (GBR) durchgesetzt. Auch am zweiten Tag hat sich José Quilis den weitesten Schlag des Tages mit einer Weite von 403,2 Yards gesichert.
Münchener Golfclub
Die Outdoor-Saison der German Long Drive Championship Serie 2019 ist gestartet. Das REGULAR SEASON Event #1 hat am 27. & 28. April 2019 auf der Driving Range des Münchener Golfclubs stattgefunden. Martin Borgmeier, Long Drive Professional aus Deutschland, hat die Division 2 gewonnen. Ihm gelang auch der Longest ball of the day mit einer Weite von 421,7 Yards. Dewald Lubbe (ZAF) und Alain Kornack (GER) belegten den zweiten und dritten Platz. Am Sonntag kämpften die Spieler der Division 1 um den Sieg. Der deutsche Long Drive Professional Robin Horvath hat sich gegen die Konkurrenz durchgesetzt und die Division 1 gewonnen. Bry Roberts und Jordan Brooks (beide aus GBR) kamen auf die Plätze 2 und 3. Auch am zweiten Tag sicherte sich Martin Borgmeier mit einer Weite von 418,5 Yards den Longest ball of the day.
Rheingolf Messe
Im Rahmen der Rheingolf Messe hat das PRESEASON Event #2 der GLDC-Serie am 23. & 24. Februar 2019 in Düsseldorf stattgefunden. 15 europäische Longhitter und drei Amateure haben an dem Event teilgenommen. Die Division 2 wurde am Samstag ausgetragen. Der Longdrive Professional Bry Roberts aus Wales hat sich gegen die Konkurrenz durchgesetzt und die Division 2 gewonnen. Chris Latta (GBR) und Vincent Palm (GER), der den längsten Ball des Tages mit einer Länge von 422 Yards geschlagen hat, folgten auf den Plätzen 2 und 3. Am Sonntag hat die Division 1 stattgefunden, für die sich die vier besten Spieler der Division 2 und die besten sieben Spieler des offiziellen GLDC-Rankings qualifiziert hatten. José Quilis, spanischer Longdrive Professional, hat die Division 1 gewonnen, gefolgt von Bry Roberts und Matthew Nicolle (beide aus GBR). Bry Roberts ist der längste Schlag des Tages mit einer Länge von 425 Yards gelungen.
CMT - Messe Stuttgart
The German Long Drive Championship has officially begun. As part of the "CMT - die Urlaubsmesse", the PRESEASON Event #1 of the GLDC series took place on January 19th in Stuttgart - with a total of 14 European long hitters taking part. After a seeding round the players were divided into Division 1 and Division 2. Jordan Brooks, Long Drive Professional from England came out on top as Champion of the Division 1 category. He also managed the longest shot of the day, the so-called "Longest Ball of the day", with 428 yards. In Division 2 the Belgian longhitter Steve Vandebos won with a distance of 398 yards.
